Manchester City has made a €90m (£77.4m) plus bid for RB Leipzig center-back Josko Gvardiol, according to reports in Germany.
The Premier League champions have identified the Croatia international as one of their priority targets for the summer window and are keen to secure a quick deal with the Bundesliga club.
Manchester City has seen a bid for Gvardiol rejected by Leipzig this month.
However, according to Sky Deutschland, Pep Guardiola's side has returned with an offer that includes a guaranteed €90 million before performance-related bonuses. Manchester City have also agreed personal terms with the 21-year-old.
The report also claims that Leipzig is already planning a replacement for Guardiol and a move for Lyon's 20-year-old center-back, Castelo Lukeba.
Meanwhile, Gvardiol is attracting huge interest from Chelsea, who made a €90m (£77.4m) bid last summer.
A move to Stamford Bridge did not materialize but Gvardiol has made it clear he is interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.
"I'm really confused because I met the sporting director a month before the window opened and he said, 'Yeah Josko, we're not going to sell you, we need you, we believe in you' and I'm fine." agreed, I can stay here, I like it here, I just have to improve, play, win something else. That was until two days ago," Gvardiol said in an interview with The Times in February.
"My agent called me and said Chelsea was very interested and of course, they were considering a serious offer from a big club like Chelsea."
"Leipzig said they didn't want to sell me. In the end, this decision was very difficult for me, but we couldn't reach an agreement. It is what it is.'
After losing Gundogan to FC Barcelona, Pep Guardiola's side is set to break the bank to sign multiple players so that they can retain their treble next season, and for that matter, they are going all in to complete the signing of Josko.
