Transfer news: Kai Havertz sends yet another message to Chelsea after club announce deal with Arsenal still waiting for confirmation.
Kai Havertz has taken to social media to say goodbye to yet another Chelsea teammate as the exodus from Stamford Bridge continues. With a move to Arsenal now all but confirmed for himself, he is on an effective farewell tour of the club.
Having played a key part in the 2021 Champions League win with Kante and benefitting from the expereince and character of Koulibaly, Havertz has penned heartfelt goodbyes to his former teamates on Intsagram this week. This time it was in response to the sale of Mateo Kovacic.
The Croatia midfielder has moved to Manchester City in a deal worth £35million ($44.5million). With one year left on his deal and a season of poor form and injuries behind him, it is a deal that appears to benefit all parties but once more shows the continued changes at SW6.
He wrote on Instagram in response to Kovacic's departure: "Thanks for everything you did to help me on and off the pitch. Best of luck with your move."
Shortly it will be Havertz receiving the messages from Chelsea's remaining players but for now he is still on the books as a blue. With his own exit on the horizon, his goodbye to Kovacic is not just a parting message but also a holding message for his own exit soon to come.
In the meantime he has also continued to tease fans with another post. In an image of him sat on a ball, Havertz wrote: "A love that never ends. [Black heart, football emoji.]"
It angered Chelsea fans that saw it as disrespectful to his current side but once more all but confirmed the worst kept secret that he is a new Arse nal player
