Sadio Mane reacts to Bayern Munich's signing of Harry Kane with a decision on the potential Bundesliga champions.

Bayern Munich are attempting to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, who is entering the final year of his contract.

Despite Bayern Munich's interest in England captain Harry Kane, Sadio Mane has indicated he will remain at the club this summer.

Tottenham have rejected Bayern Munich's initial Ł70 million deal for Kane, who turns 30 next month, but the Bundesliga champions are likely to make a second bid soon. According to reports in Germany, the prolific forward is eager to complete the transfer.

Mane, 31, has failed to find his best form since joining Bayern from Liverpool a year ago, owing in part to a leg injury that prevented him from competing in the World Cup in Qatar. In his 25 Bundesliga games, the Senegal international has only scored seven goals.

In April, Mane made headlines for all the wrong reasons after a confrontation with teammate Leroy Sane. Mane was suspended and punished for his role in the incident, but he quickly returned to the squad and helped Bayern win the Bundesliga.

Mane was asked by Senegalese radio 2sTV if he will remain at Bayern despite rumours of interest in Kane. According to the German daily Bild, Mane stated, "Yes, God willing." If all goes well, I will return to Bayern.

"I enjoy a good challenge, and Bavaria is a big one." It is my responsibility to do all it takes to accomplish this task... That occurs. It was a pretty complicated season [recently]. It wasn't a surprise because I expected things to be complicated. This is very typical."

Kane is one of Europe's most prolific attackers, having scored 30 Premier League goals last season. He has the England record (58 goals) and the Tottenham record (280 goals). Only Alan Shearer (260) has scored more Premier League goals than Kane (213).

Despite this, Kane has never won a major title, having lost the Euro 2020 final, the 2019 Champions League final, and two Carabao Cup finals. He is unlikely to break his duck at Tottenham, who have not won a trophy since 2008. He also has only one year left on his Spurs deal.

Kane was expected to join Manchester United, but the club has withdrawn from the trade competition. The seasoned player is unlikely to join another Premier League team this summer, with Real Madrid also reportedly interested.
