Harry Kane is building a villa roughly 15 miles from Chelsea's training complex in Cobham, fueling speculation over his future.
Kane, who turns 30 next month, only has a year left on his Tottenham contract, and other clubs are rumored to be interested in signing him. Bayern Munich has already had a £70 million bid for England captain Harry Kane rejected by Spurs, who want him to stay.
Mauricio Pochettino, the new manager of Chelsea, worked with Kane during his five-and-a-half-year tenure at Tottenham, with the Argentine playing a key role in the striker's development. Kane could be tempted by the chance to work with Pochettino again.
Kane has also been linked to Manchester United and Real Madrid. Tottenham must decide whether to sell their best asset this summer or spend the next year attempting to persuade him to sign a new contract, risking losing him on a free transfer.
Kane is developing a home near Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey, according to The Telegraph. The famed golf course, which serves as the DP World Tour's headquarters and hosts the PGA Championship (non-major) every year, is only 15 miles from Cobham.
Kane is said to have started the project, which is nearing completion, a while ago. Tottenham's star is currently living in Hampstead, north London, with his wife Kate and three children. The couple plans to have a fourth child later this year.
Chelsea is not believed to be planning a bid for Kane and must sell players. Since Todd Boehly's group finalized a purchase a year ago, the Blues have been the top spenders in Europe and must comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) standards.
Kane is also an avid golfer and may be constructing the property for his retirement. However, news of the property has Chelsea fans wondering if they will be able to get the prolific striker on a free transfer when his
Kane wants to stay in England and break the Premier League scoring record. Only Alan Shearer (260) has more goals in the division than him (213). Kane is already England's (58) and Tottenham's (280) all-time leading scorer.
Kane, on the other hand, is hoping to win his first major championship. After losing the 2019 Champions League final, the Euro 2020 final, and two Carabao Cup finals, the striker has yet to win a trophy. Six years ago, Tottenham finished second in the Premier League.
Spurs finished ninth in the Premier League last season, which means they will not compete in Europe the following season. Kane revealed to Sky Sports in April that Tottenham had lost some of the ideals they had under Pochettino.
"I feel like there were some values at that time [under Pochettino] and some culture that really drove us to achieve the things we did," Kane remarked. So perhaps we've lost some of it in recent years, and it's about looking back and seeing what positive we can take from it and trying to integrate it in the future."
