Hakim Ziyech experiences transfer sadness as his departure from Chelsea is postponed a second time.
Hakim Ziyech has had a terrible time at Chelsea, but it appears he may be forced to remain there for some time to come after a lucrative transfer to the Saudi Pro League fell through.
Chelsea misfit After failing his medical at Al-Nassr, Hakim Ziyech has once more been denied a transfer away from the Premier League giants.
Since joining the Blues from Ajax, Ziyech has had a terrible time at Stamford Bridge and is eager to restart his career somewhere else. He attempted to depart in January, but the move to PSG fell through due to paperwork errors made by Chelsea.
He seemed destined to join teammates Kalidou Koulibaly, Edouard Mendy, and N'Golo Kante in the Saudi Pro League for much of the summer. The Moroccan received a sizable offer from Al-Nassr to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo for the runners-up from the previous season.
But as originally reported in Saudi Arabia, Ziyech failed his physical with the Knights of Najd, and that contract now appears to be dead in the water. Ziyech was supposed to move to Saudi Arabia for £17 million this summer. Ziyech will remain at Stamford Bridge as a result of his failed medical exam, which prevents that move from taking place.
The test findings were released on the same day that Al-Nassr and Inter Milan reached an agreement for midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
However, Ziyech won't be joining the Croatian at Al-Awwal Park since this will be his second unsuccessful exit in the past six months. The first setback occurred in January when Chelsea missed the deadline for submitting the paperwork for a potential transfer to PSG. The French champions were incensed by it, and Chelsea's managers came under fire for their handling of the discussions. Luis Campos, the sporting director for PSG, was particularly harsh.
"We had the player with us, and we had done everything," he claimed. However, for a transfer to be successful, all three parties must cooperate. In this instance, Ziyech and Paris Saint-Germain both benefited greatly from it.
"Unfortunately, it didn't work out well for the last party."
Ziyech's failure to live up to expectations since joining the Blues in a £37 million deal from Ajax in 2020 has sadly become apparent. Since relocating to London, he has only scored 14 goals, and he was completely goalless last season.
Because of this, there is a growing perception that the attacker must leave Chelsea in order to revitalize his career. Frank Leboeuf, a former Blues star, undoubtedly believes this as he urged Ziyech to take this action in March.
When asked which players should depart the Blues this summer, he responded, "Definitely Ziyech," to an ESPN question. "The man wants to work because he is not content. He is the top player in the world whenever he represents Morocco.
He feels depressed and lost each time he plays for Chelsea. Therefore, I want him to move on so he can prove to the world that he is still the Ziyech we saw when he played for Ajax.
