Chelsea responds right away to Inter Milan's outrageous Romelu Lukaku bid.

This summer, Inter Milan is hoping to re-sign Romelu Lukaku, but the Serie A club is having trouble coming to terms with Chelsea, who will only approve a permanent transfer.

Romelu Lukaku's re-loan request has been categorically refused by Chelsea, despite Inter Milan's efforts to re-sign the striker.

After leaving Manchester United in 2019, Lukaku scored 64 goals in 95 games for Inter Milan, helping them win the Serie A championship. The Belgian international, however, departed Inter and returned to Chelsea in 2021 for Ł97.5 million, but the transaction rapidly went south.

In an interview with Sky Italia that was published just four months after his return to Stamford Bridge, Lukaku expressed his dissatisfaction with his position under then-manager Thomas Tuchel and his desire to "return to Inter, not at the end of my career, but at a still good level to hopefully win more."

Lukaku met with Tuchel after the interview and apologized in front of the public, but he was unable to recover and finished the season with only eight Premier League goals. The next season, he was loaned back to Inter, where he scored 14 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions to assist Simon Inzaghi's team go to the Champions League final, where they lost to Manchester City 1-0.

Lukaku is eager to stay in Italy, and Inter wants to make the loan move permanent. Lukaku has shown to be a tremendous forward for Inter and a remarkable person. The Inter president Steven Zhang said, "He's under contract at Chelsea, so we'll have to wait and speak with them to understand his situation.

This season has a lot of things going for it, and we need to use it as a springboard to keep growing every day. One day is insufficient to organize a transfer window. By keeping our best players, we can remain competitive.

In addition, Sky Italia reports that Inter want to re-sign Lukaku on loan, but this time with a €30 million (Ł25.7 million) buy-back requirement. The amount would then be "paid over several years," the story continues.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea is only willing to approve a permanent transfer for Lukaku and has "no plans" to allow him go on loan. As a result, the 30-year-old may not leave Stamford Bridge for the upcoming campaign. Lukaku did receive a sizable offer from Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League, but he turned it down because he wanted to keep playing in Europe.

Inter has reportedly failed to reach Chelsea's Ł34 million asking price for his services. As a result, Lukaku's rivals AC Milan were rumored to be interested in signing him, but that rumor was swiftly dispelled by his attorney Sebastien Ledure, who informed the Italian media: "There are no conversations happening with AC Milan.

"Romelu made it clear that he intends to stay in Europe by choosing not to travel to Saudi Arabia. According to Chelsea, interested teams must make a solid bid. The ball is in Inter's court.
