Liverpool has revealed their new away kit for the upcoming 2023-24 season, drawing inspiration from one of their iconic shirts from the mid-1990s. Prominent players like Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Harvey Elliott were among the Reds stars who modeled the new 'spark and poison' away kit ahead of the new campaign. The shirt pays homage to Liverpool's kit from the 1995-96 season, featuring a green and white quarter pattern, a black collar, and cuff.
Kit manufacturers Nike have given a modern twist to the retro design by incorporating a digital effect treatment, layering tonal greens such as green spark, poison green, and pine green. The kit is complemented by black shorts and white socks with a black and green trim.
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson also showcased the new home shirt for the 2023-24 season. The eye-catching design features black and dark grey with green detailing on the crest and sponsor. It is accompanied by matching shorts and black socks with a grey cuff and green logos. Additionally, all the kits include the 97-emblem with eternal flames at the nape of the neck as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster.
The kit release event featured former Liverpool captain Ian Rush and prolific scorer Robbie Fowler, who both represented the club during the 1995-96 season. Fowler expressed his fondness for the white and green away strip and praised the fresh take on the design in the new kit.
Manager Jurgen Klopp also participated in the unveiling, donning Liverpool's new away tracksuit top for the upcoming season, which follows the green-and-white theme.
Fans can pre-order all the kits starting from the launch day on July 7 through Liverpool's online store and the LFC Store App. The men's team will debut the white and green kit against Leicester on July 30 during their pre-season tour in Singapore, while the women's team will showcase it during their pre-season matches in late August.
