Declan Rice has scheduled a medical with Arsenal after cutting his vacation short to return to London.

Arsenal have already agreed to sign West Ham and England midfielder Declan Rice, and the midfielder has returned to the UK to finalize the legalities of a record-breaking move to the Emirates Stadium.

Declan Rice has cut short his holiday to undertake his Arsenal medical ahead of his record-breaking move.

The West Ham and England midfielder is on the verge of becoming the most expensive British footballer in history, with a £105 million move to the Emirates Stadium. Following Manchester City's withdrawal from the race, Arsenal had already reached a deal with the Hammers.

Before Rice goes through the formalities of the shift, the last arrangements, including payment structure, are being worked out. He will have a physical with the Gunners before putting pen to paper on a long-term contract.

Rice has made certain that he can sign off on the deal as soon as he returns from his vacation. He returned from Dubai on Saturday, where he had been winding down after England duty.

On Sunday, the midfielder was photographed playing football with the children of Hammers hero Mark Noble in his back garden. As the Three Lions star went in goal, the two children, Lenny and Honey, went in goal.

Rice was heard saying, "First one then, top corner, promise ya," and then, as the ball sailed into the net, he added, "Told ya."

Rice will very certainly become the Gunners' second signing of the summer after the £65 million arrival of Kai Havertz from Chelsea, once he passes a medical and completes all of his club media duties. He will be followed by Jurrien Timber, a Dutch defender who will come from Ajax.

Rice's departure also ends Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's long pursuit of him. According to The Sunday Times, the two had a private meeting in January.

The midfielder was claimed to be taken aback by the Spaniard's aspirations to develop his game while at Emirates Stadium. Rice may look forward to meeting his new teammates once the legalities are through.
