Five Years After Amissah Arthur's Death: Wife Finally Reveals Who And What Killed Him

Jun 30, 2023

On 29th June, 2018 former Vice President of Ghana Late Kwesi Amissah Arthur was confirmed dead at the 37 Military Hospital after reportedly collapsing at the Air Force Gym during his routine morning workout session. However, his wife Mrs Matilda Amissah- Arthur finally revealed what actually killed her husband and which people pushed him to his death.

Speaking in a recent interview, Mrs Matilda Amissah Arthur revealed that at a point under the John Dramani Mahama administration, she even pressured her husband to resign from his position as the Vice President because the bad treatment from people especially in the National Democratic Congress was too much. In this case, the former President' s wife saw firsthand the toll that the alleged mistreatment took on her husband' s well- being and public image, leading her to intervene and advocate for his resignation.

The former President' s wife expressed deep concern and disappointment over the way he has been treated within the NDC. Allegedly, she witnessed a series of incidents in which he was sidelined, disrespected, and undermined by fellow party members. These experiences left her with no choice but to urge her husband to consider resigning from his political responsibilities.

" There were several times I just told him to resign and get his peace. But after I said that, I later realised that Kwesi can be the only person to be truthful to power. I got to know that if he resigns, who will be saying the things he was saying? So I just let him be there and say what he thinks about the government" . Amissah Arthur' s wife revealed.

As the story unfolds, it will undoubtedly spark discussions about what actually killed the Vice President in 2018. Some are beginning to realise that the cause of death may not be what we were told but rather pressure from his own party.
