Barcelona, the reigning LaLiga champions, are coming off a terrific season under Xavi, and he will be hoping that their excellent performance in 2022-23 will enhance their chances of bringing in some big names before the next season.Lionel Messi was the most prominent name linked with a move to Camp Nou after two years at PSG, but the Argentine chose to join MLS instead. Meanwhile, the departure of veteran Sergio Busquets would leave a major void in Xavi's midfield, with Martin Zubimendi and Ruben Neves expected to be the key targets.
Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva of Manchester City have also been linked with Barcelona, and it will be interesting to see if the reigning Spanish champions can find a way to recruit the players they want with the limited cash at their disposal.
Following Gerard Pique's departure midway through the 2022-23 season, Jordi Alba bid farewell to Camp Nou. Barcelona will almost definitely add defensive reinforcements as well.

Summer Window Signage
Ilkay Gundogan, the veteran midfielder who helped Manchester City complete an unprecedented triple last season, has joined the Catalan club on a free transfer. In what has so far been a quiet summer window, the 32-year-old becomes Barcelona's first signing of the season. At the moment, though, they have just welcomed back loan players.
Sergino Dest of the USMNT, as well as French defenders Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet, are among those nominated.
Meanwhile, Antoine Griezmann legally returned to Barcelona from his loan term at Atletico Madrid, only to quickly cement his permanent return to the city.
Barcelona lost two long-serving employees, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who retired from the club. Busquets will join former Barcelona colleague Lionel Messi at Inter Miami after signing a free transfer with the MLS club.
Griezmann completed his two-year loan return to Atletico Madrid, while Trincao signed a permanent deal with Sporting CP after a season on loan.
