Real Madrid will look to make a strong start to the new Spanish LaLiga season when they face Athletic Bilbao in their first game of the 2023-24 season on Sunday, August 12, at San Mames Stadium.

Los Blancos drew 1-1 with Athletic Bilbao in their final game of the 2022-23 season, and they will be seeking for a win to get back on track when they meet again in the first game of the new season.

How will Real Madrid line up against Athletic Bilbao?

Real Madrid will be without the services of Karim Benzema, who has left the club to join Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League. Remember that the French attacker was instrumental in Real Madrid's prior seasons, helping them win multiple domestic and European titles.Real Madrid, on the other hand, has confirmed the signing of Ardar Guler in order to improve their attack. Fenerbahce's Turkish sensation joined the Spanish LaLiga giants on a permanent basis.

The 18-year-old is anticipated to play alongside Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes up front, while summer recruit Jude Bellingham is set to play alongside Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde in the midfield.

Cesar Azpilicueta said a tearful goodbye to Chelsea, and fans immediately likened it to Mason Mount's video earlier in the week.

Given the number of players departing the club, the hinges on the exit door at Stamford Bridge will require some tender loving care before the end of the transfer window.

Already, the club website includes eight players who have left, followed by a section for academy players and the two loanees who have returned to their respective teams.

Mount is yet to appear on the page, despite the fact that he officially joined Manchester United on Wednesday and has been cursed with the number seven.

Mount attempted to say one final farewell to his previous club about leaving them for their rivals before his move to United was official.

His remark did not go down well with many of them, who thought it was too produced and PR-driven, rather than coming from the heart.

Thanks to Azpilicueta, they now have more evidence to support their assumption that the midfielder was not overly distraught about departing.
