Brighton & Hove Albion are believed to be interested in Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus, with Ajax Amsterdam said to be holding out for their evaluation of the player.
Kudus was Ghana's star and standout player during the World Cup in Qatar. Despite Ghana's short-lived World Cup dream, he performed exceptionally well and scored some important and amazing goals. Mohammed Kudus was also voted Ghana's most outstanding player at the SWAG Awards in Accra.
His sterling performance for the club has especially attracted attention from many clubs across Europe. He was recently linked with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid. His current club, however, is unwilling to let him leave and offers him a lucrative renewal of his contract. However, the Ghanaian is ready to move on to take on a different challenge.
He is expected to decide soon on his future with United and Brighton and Hove Albion. He also hasn't performed really poorly with his country, though the Black Stars team is still under the guidance of former Brighton boss Chris Hutton.
Kudus has seen his stock in European football rise during the 2022–23 campaign. He also performed well at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with the Black Stars. Since the World Cup showpiece, held in Qatar, it has been said that Manchester United are keeping tabs on the versatile midfielder, as are some top European clubs.
With Erik Ten Hag seemingly keen on adding to his midfield department ahead of the 2023–24 season, Kudus’ all-round ability is said to be suited to the Dutchman’s demanding style of play. The midfielder worked with Eric Ten Hag at Ajax, and the Dutch tactician is ready to add him to his squad at Manchester United for the upcoming season.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Brighton are interested in Ghana's star player and are ready to snap him up from Manchester United. The English club has held ‘further talks’ over a potential move to strengthen their squads for the future and the Europa League.
The same report mentions that Ajax priced their midfield talisman at £40 million, a fee that would shatter Brighton’s record spend.
