Captain Smart was cursed by Sefwi- Wiawso Traditional Council for calling the region a useless Region
The Western North Region is one of the six new regions of Ghana created in 2019. The region is bounded by the Ivory Coast on the west, the Central region in the southeast, and the Ashanti, Ahafo, Bono East, and Bono regions in the north.
The Sefwi-Wiawso Traditional Council performed rituals last week as part of extents to summon Onua FM/TV presenter Captain Smart over the contentious comment he made about the Western North Region on his show.
In the June 30, 2023 post disseminated by Oyerepa TV, the elders of the Sefwi North were spotted pouring libation over the problem with reports revealing the slaughtering of sheep.
They poured libation as they spoke their local dialect, an elder made invocations and statements to the effect that if Captain Smart arrives to bail himself, they are ever ready to let things slide away but if not, the gods should deal with him as they are supposed to.
Captain Smart, is told to have made an ethnocentric comment on his Onua show characterizing the Western North Region as the most useless region created by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
A member of the council in a later interrogation called on the National Media Commission (NMC) to reinforce Captain Smart and the colleagues like him who make incendiary statements that are adverse to peace.
He also expressed that the useless Region does not have anything to do with Captain Smart’s workers or the Media General group.
The Elders didn't not agree on why the workers of Captain Smart, Media General should be the ones to represent Captain Smart when he was the one that made the ill utterance They expect him to come and do the needful if not the gods should do what they are supposed to do.
