Real Madrid now have several world-class midfielders in their squad ahead of the 2023/2024 season. Los Blancos failed to win the UEFA Champions League and La Liga last season. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti will leave the club at the end of his contract after agreeing to lead the Brazilian national team. Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with a move to Brazil for some time. Fluminense coach Fernando Diniz will take on the role temporarily until Ancelotti arrives next summer.

Lionel Messi has become one of the biggest names in sports history, but unlike some of his peers, he's been pretty quiet off the pitch.

Former team-mate Achraf Hakimi once described the World Cup champion as 'outspoken and quiet' - not surprising given his shy demeanor during press events.

Messi is known to be a family man, spending time with his three sons - Thiago, 10, Mateo, 7, and Ciro, 5 - as well as his wife Antonela Roccuzzo.

However, the 36-year-old football icon is still human and enjoys the lavish lifestyle that comes with the title of one of the best players of all time.

Mail Sport took a deep dive into Messi's life off the pitch - looking at everything from his relationship with his childhood sweetheart to his luxury apartment in Miami. Lionel Messi (right) first met his wife Antonela in the 90s in their hometown of Rosario

Messi first met his wife in the 90s in their hometown, Rosario. The Argentine player was only 5 years old when he met the love of his life.

Antonela is the cousin of Lucas Scaglia, Messi's childhood friend. The two lovebirds ended up spending a lot of time together when they were young.

Messi and Antonela's relationship blossomed during their younger years and the pair remained in touch when the No 10 moved to Barcelona at the age of 13. Then, in 2008, Messi and Antonela made their relationship public.

Messi and Antonela welcomed their first son, Thiago, born in 2012 before having two more sons Mateo (2015) and Ciro (2018).

The couple were married in 2017 in a lavish wedding at a luxury hotel in central Rosario - but much more to come after that.

Messi's admiration for his wife is clear. When asked about Antonela in the past, Messi said:

The truth is I admire everything about her. 'She has so many good qualities:

how she manages day to day; Her personality; she is always in a good mood; and she always deals with problems in an admirable way.

The World Cup champion ended by saying:

"He's a very intelligent person who excels in every aspect of his life."

Messi and Antonela's wedding was unforgettable. More than 250 friends and family - including some of football's biggest names - flew to Argentina to see the sports star get married at the lavish resort - City Center Complex - in Rosario.
