The winning goal came almost at the last stop of the first half when Cole Palmer's free kick eluded teammate Curtis Jones and goalkeeper Arnau Tenas to find the bottom corner. Spain, who have scored 13 goals in the tournament, had Ruiz's goal ruled out for offside after half-time, before Traffod's heroics wrapped up England's victory.

The win meant that Lee Carsley's men were the third England team to win the competition after winning the trophy in 1982 and 1984. Theyare also the first team to record six pure paper and the story about the competition.

Gordon was again involved as he looked to play in Morgan Gibbs-White before Jon Pacheco's tackle prevented the Nottingham Forest player from getting on target. Chelsea defender Levi Colwill headed over the crossbar after a superb save from Palmer, before the Manchester City man put England ahead when Jones converted his free kick.
