Thomas Partey starts pre-season at Arsenal

 Thomas Partey has started playing football with Arsenal ahead of the new Premier League.

The 29-year-old, who has been on holiday in his homeland, appeared at the Gunners' camp earlier today to make an early start. Partey was a regular in central midfield, netting 40 times across the board last season, but his form faltered asthe Gunners finished their season. 

With Declan Rice's
 arrival imminent, Partey may struggle to keep his place in the starting XI. Partey, who has two years left on his contract, has been heavily linked with a move awayfrom the Gunners this summer. 

Saudi Pro League clubs Al-Ahli, Al-Khaleej and Al-Nassr made bids for the midfielder but he was rejected according to reports. Manchester United and Juventus also said they wereinterested in the Ghanaian assistant. 

Meanwhile, Partey did not feature in Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Watford in their first Premier League match. Parteyjoined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 and made 99 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and providingfour assists. 

Arsenal will continue their campaign in the United States of America before opening the2023/24 Premier League campaign at home toNottingham Forest on August 12.
