Nigerian indie musician Tommy WÁ will release new 'Yakoyo'on August 4th

"Come fill" is the theme and meaning of "YAKOYO", the leadsingle from Nigerian singerTommy WÁ's forthcoming EP, "Roadman and Folks", which will be out this year.

An
open invitation to his community to party, share and enjoy together, “YAKOYO” is set to be available for streamingor purchase on various digital music platforms on August 4th. Although he is usually a musician, the singer collaborates with other local and international talents to show the magic of the rich country creation that the music includes.

Lucas
Muller (Berlin, Germany) produces this sound track, combined with Thewa Chayadam (Thailand) and the instrument of SuperJazzClub frontman Øbed and the main keyboardist / band Senku Live,Nee Dromor. This poem opens with sweet words for travelers who are "hungry" or "hungry" to get a break and refresh the spirit of the country. Tommy WÁ's warm voice rings out in the ring, promising to be refreshed and "scented." With a strong interest in soul, Tommy WÁ is a singer, poet and historian who skillfully established his musical direction through the sound of Afro. He draws his sonic texture from a mix of contemporary, indie and retro-soul music. This music collection perfectly covers the boundaries of Nigerian roots and embracesthe musical aspirations of Accra, the Ghanaian cosmopolis where it is based.

He cites Michael Kiwanuka, Bon Iver, Brittany Howard, Beautiful Nubia and The Lumineers, among others, as influences. Live, Tommy WÁ entertains - either solo or with his band - inrecent live performancesincluding BASSLINE Festival and ACCESS 2021 in Johannesburg, Pop-Kultur 2022, Berlin and a series of boutique tours in London, Oxford, Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam.

self-proclaimed "man of the road", Tommy WÁ's manyphysical journeys and metaphysical reflectionsthrough the years of musicdiscovery provide the perfectinspiration and context for "YAKOYO". Although he is not afraid of the fact that "life is full of gaps", Tommy WÁ reminds us in "YAKOYO" to keep thinking of abundance and the importance of creating, sharing and consumption with common hope.

A
single person comes to the times of the lost, the young and the old, the greedy and the needy, renews the fire, refuelsand refreshes the society as it goes. forward to the changeswe need to see.
