The first flight arrived in Tamale on Monday at dawn
The Chairman of Hajj CouncilBen Andallah Banda saw the first group of Ghanaian Hajj pilgrims returning home after Hajj 2023 in Saudi Arabia.
About 4,000 Ghanaian pilgrims are participating in this year'sHajj and starting tonight, 10 flights will take them to Tamale and Accra respectively. BenAbdallah Banda and some flight attendants accompanied thepilgrims on the first flight fromTamale to Jeddah Airport to accompany them.
He congratulated the pilgrims on a successful Hajj and wished them a safe journey back to Ghana. Meanwhile, there will be 4 more daily flights to Tamale after today before another 5 flights will take the remaining pilgrims to Accra, starting next weekend.
The chairman of the council,Ben Abdallah Banda, was accompanied by members of the council, Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, Masaudu Osman, Ahmed Abdulai Abu and Alhaji Yunus Osman. The first flight arrived in Tamale on Monday morning
