ABOUT THE AUTHOR'S:
1. YVONNE NELSON
Yvonne Nelson is undoubtedly one of Africa's finest actors. Her versatility makes her one of the most sought-after actresses on the continent. The award-winning Ghanaian actor has starred in over 100 movies and has numerous endorsement deals with respected brands. Yvonne Nelson is currently Ghana's most consistent movie producer and has over thirteen highly acclaimed movies from the stable of her YN Productions. She focuses on casting new faces and providing a platform for young creatives, which is in line with her staunch belief that the sustainability of the movie industry depends largely on giving the young ones a chance. She has been involved in a number of charities, but her main focus is the Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation, which creates awareness about the silent blinding disease. She is the founder and director of one of the most enterprising early childhood development schools in Ghana, Just Like Mama Day Care. Yvonne Nelson, who describes herself as an actress by chance and activist by choice, has used her influence to champion national causes, the most outstanding one being her massive protest against the power crisis in Ghana in 2015. She holds a BSc in Human Resource Management from Central University College and an MA in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
2. ADJETEY ANANG
Adjetey Anang (born 8 July 1973) is a Ghanaian actor, popularly known as "Pusher", which was his screen name in the television series Things We Do for Love. He has featured in many Ghanaian movies, including Deadly Voyage, A Sting in a Tale, The Perfect Picture and others.
ABOUT THE BOOKS:
After a thorough review of Yvonne Nelson's book entitled I'm Not Yvonne Nelson and Adjetey Anang's book entitled A story of Faith, Imperfection and Resilience, conclusion can been drawn that both are from different angles but meeting at a point.
Both author's talked about resilience, imperfection and pressure from society for being a celebrity.
YVONNE NELSON'S CASE:
In her book she revealed that, it was resilience that kept her going in whole piece after she learnt she was a product of an aborted plan to a pregnancy. And also after she felt useless to her family and friends who did not hide their disdain for the failure she had became.
ADJETEY ANANG'S CASE:
The author revealed in his book the pressure from society after seven year's of marriage without a child. He said 'Every marriage comes with its own unique challenges and pressures. In every marriage, you will find rough patches that are an integral part of its pattern and beauty. Elorm and I have had our fair share of tests and trials and we have over the years developed strategies to sustain a loving relationship in spite of them. Perhaps one of the toughest things we have had and overcome was the issue of childlessness for several years after marriage and its ripple effects on a couple that desires children. We have had tough experiences over the years, from dealing with the pressures of the industry in which I work, to the tough demands of the industry she works in. But this was one of the most difficult things. We waited and waited till the several year! Society's expectations weighed us down and being public figure made it even harder for me and probably for her.
