Grayson had always thought that love was a black and white thing. You either loved someone or you didn't. But then he met Lila, and everything changed.
It was a chance encounter that brought them together. Grayson was out walking his dog when he saw Lila sitting on a bench, staring out at the ocean. She looked so lost and alone that he couldn't help but approach her.
"Are you okay?" he asked, sitting down next to her.
Lila looked up at him, her eyes red from crying. "No," she said softly. "I'm not okay."
Grayson didn't know what to say, but he knew that he wanted to help her. So he sat there with her, listening as she told him about her troubles. She was going through a difficult time, and she didn't know how to cope.
As they talked, Grayson began to realize that there was something special about Lila. She was quiet and reserved, but she had a warmth about her that drew him in. And as they parted ways that day, he knew that he wanted to see her again.
Over the next few weeks, Grayson and Lila began to spend more time together. They went for walks on the beach, had picnics in the park, and talked for hours on end. Grayson was falling in love with her, but he wasn't sure if she felt the same way.
One day, he decided to take a chance. They were sitting on the beach, watching the waves crash against the shore, when he turned to her and said, "Lila, I have to tell you something."
"What is it?" she asked, looking at him with those beautiful brown eyes.
"I think I'm falling in love with you," he said, his heart racing.
Lila looked at him for a long moment, and Grayson thought that he had made a mistake. But then she smiled, and he knew that he had been right all along.
"I think I'm falling in love with you too," she said, taking his hand in hers.
From that moment on, Grayson and Lila were inseparable. They were two halves of a whole, and they knew that they were meant to be together. But there was a problem. Lila was sick, and no one knew if she was going to make it.
