First-Class Graduate Of The University Of Ibadan Beaten To Death For Allegedly Stealing Bread, Suspects Arrested In The Incident
On July 11, 2023, a University of Ibadan First-Class Graduate was found dead after allegedly stealing bread. Suspects in the case were arrested.

Opuofoni Freeborn Ebimotimi, a graduate with a first-class standing from the University of Ibadan in Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria, was beaten to death by a mob in Bayelsa State on the suspicion that he had stolen food.

Idisemi Opuofoni Freeborn, his younger sister, stated that neighbors and friends who saw the incident went to the scene of the activities and pleaded with the angry teenagers to allow him to live, promising to pay for the bread in double folds, but the angry youths denied the appeal and killed him. His younger sister added that the angry youngsters did not listen to the pleading of his friends and neighbors and killed him.
Idisemi claims that ever since their father passed away, life has been unfair to them, and he says that this is why he stole bread to satisfy his hunger.
On Tuesday, the Bayelsa State Police Command issued a communiqué, which SaharaReporters was able to get, stating that three individuals had been arrested and that an investigation was still ongoing.
