A referee was beaten by an Angry coach to pulp over indirect free-kick.

Center referee, Mohammed Sakina Nasara has been admitted to the Tamale Technical University Medical Center.




The incident took place on Saturday, June 17, 2023 in a Division One B Women’s League between Tiyumba Ladies and Soccer Missionaries Ladies at Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale. 

The angry gaffer whose side was leading 1-0 instructed his players not to continue with the game and went ahead to physically attack the referee.

After Iddrisu Suweidu, affectionately called “Coach Kubli” was incensed by the referee’s decision to award an indirect free kick to the opposing team after the goalkeeper handled the ball with her hands from a pass in the penalty box. 





She was rushed to the hospital with bruises on her face and back pains due to severe beatings resulting in an abrupt end of the match. 

The parents of Mohammed Sakina Nasara were so upset after hearing this. Even though, the parents of Mohammed Sakina Nasara even made their intentions of locking coach Kubli up in the police custody. But so many people even Imams were even brought to plead on coach Kubli's behave.


Although as we're now the parents are still insisting that coach Kubli should take care of Mohammed Sakina Nasara known as the referee medical bills, that if not that happen and afterwards then he will then apologise to Mohammed Sakina Nasara known as the referee.


However, multiple reports indicates Iddrisu Suweidu Kubli is noted for hooliganism and other football related misconduct. 


The matter has been reported to the disciplinary committee of the FA for further action. 


Yesterday, Wednesday on the 12th July, 2023 the disciplinary committee of the FA has decided to take action on the issue of Mohammed Sakina Nasara the referee and Iddrisu Suweidu Kubli popularly known as coach Kubli. The FA has fine coach Kubli to pay a sum of 1,000 Ghanaian cedis if not he will be sanction from the coaching staff.
