Erik ten Hag's £100 million Manchester United transfer plan has been exposed by his agent, as the Barcelona problem emerges.

Manchester United is still looking to add a big-name forward to their team this summer and is willing to spend a lot of money, but Barcelona has stepped in once again after the Frenkie de Jong fiasco.

Manchester United made a £100 million bid for Vitor Roque in an attempt to steal the forward from Barcelona.

The Red Devils have made it clear that they want to acquire a big-name attacker this summer, as Erik ten Hag looks to add more goals to his squad. They were interested in Tottenham striker Harry Kane but discontinued their pursuit after Daniel Levy's demands.

A number of other forwards have been connected with a move to Old Trafford, including Randal Kolo Muani, Rasmus Hojlund, and Victor Osimhen. However, United appear to have prioritized Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranense.

Andre Cury, the striker's agent, recently claimed that both Manchester United and Tottenham had made big-money bids for Roque before his move to Barcelona was finalized. "I can confirm that English clubs tried to hijack the Vitor Roque deal," he remarked on the Charla show.

"Tottenham and Manchester United made significant bids, far outbidding Barcelona." They were collectively valued more than €100 million. However, his job path is well-defined, so we chose Barcelona. Now is not the time to think about money.

It is not the first time that the Catalan giants have derailed Ten Hag's transfer intentions since his arrived at Old Trafford. Last summer, the Red Devils were heavily linked with a transfer for midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

Barcelona was expected to sell De Jong due to the Camp Nou's terrible financial circumstances, but they decided to keep him. While this disappointed the Red Devils, it worked out well because they ended up signing Casemiro from Real Madrid instead.

In other news, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has already announced what Roque would bring to the club. In an interview with the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, he confirmed: "Goals. He has his own distinct style. He cannot be compared to [former Brazil forwards] Ronaldo or Romario. He is a lethal player with both feet inside the box.
