Jorginho acknowledges that Arsenal players are unaware of the Declan Rice statement.

Arsenal's pursuit of Declan Rice continues, with no date set for the announcement of the club-record transfer, leaving even the Gunners' players in the dark.

Jorginho, of Arsenal, has said that he and his teammates are still unsure when Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber will join the club.

The Gunners are closing in on deals for both players as Mikel Arteta attempts to kickstart his club's transfer business. West Ham agreed to a record sum for Rice eight days ago, but the Hammers are growing dissatisfied with the deal's slow development.

Timber, meantime, is set to join Arsenal in a Ł40 million deal from Ajax, with Arsenal beating out Manchester United. Emirates transfer chiefs appear to be keeping any details of the double transaction under wraps.

Jorginho, who joined Arteta's team from Chelsea in January, provided the information. The Italian has disclosed that neither Rice nor Timber have been assigned a timetable for their arrival.

He was being questioned on the social networking app The Residency, which allows football fans to interact with players. "Jorginho, when are Rice and Timber joining?" one Arsenal supporter said of the midfielder.

They were let down, though, when the Italian international said, "Good question. "No idea," accompanied by three laughing emojis. Jorginho's admission comes as West Ham are growing impatient with the slow pace of Rice's transfer.

The contracts between the Hammers and Arsenal have yet to be finalized, with the Gunners' attorneys still putting the finishing touches on the paperwork. Rice is believed to have already passed his physical, with only the contracts still to be finalised before joining Arteta's team.

Arteta is presently in Germany, where he has taken his players for a training camp before departing on a preseason tour of the United States on Sunday. Arsenal hopes to have confirmed his arrival by then, however Arteta has remained silent.

"I can't speak about players who aren't on the team." I'd rather not say anything. Talent comes at a cost, and at Arsenal, we are always interested in young players with experience," Arsene Wenger told Marca earlier this summer.
