Fulham talks sign Chelsea winger, exploring options Willian's contract expiry
Fulham Football Club is currently engaged in negotiations to sign two players, Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea and Andre Trindade from Fluminense. Hudson-Odoi, a winger, has one year remaining on his contract with Chelsea and is looking for a new club where he can secure regular first-team football. Last season, he was on loan at Bayer Leverkusen but has returned to Chelsea for pre-season. However, it is understood that he may not get sufficient playing time under manager Mauricio Pochettino next season. Consequently, Hudson-Odoi is seeking a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade, a 21-year-old Brazilian, is another player on Fulham's radar. Despite facing fierce competition from Barcelona, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United, Fulham remains confident in their pursuit of the talented midfielder. Andre was included in the Brazilian league's team of the year in 2022, and Fulham is making significant efforts to secure his services.
The transfer window has been frustrating for Fulham so far, as they have yet to make any signings. However, they have had an £18 million offer for Benfica defender Morato rejected. Nonetheless, Morato has expressed his desire to join Fulham to Benfica. The 22-year-old Brazilian has previous experience in the Champions League and recently won the Primeira Liga with Benfica, although he played a minor role in their success.
Fulham is determined to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season and is actively pursuing these potential signings. The club recognizes the need for fresh faces and is hopeful of securing the services of Hudson-Odoi, Andre, and Morato to bolster their team. As negotiations continue, Fulham remains optimistic about their chances of finalizing these deals and kick-starting their transfer activity.
