Mason Greenwood, a Manchester United striker, has resorted to social media to announce the arrival of his first child with his partner, who is due on Tuesday.

Greenwood made the announcement on Instagram, showing a photo of the couple clutching the baby's hand. The caption simply said '11.07.23' and included a white heart emoji.
According to the posted date, the baby was born on Tuesday. Greenwood, 21, put the picture on the social networking platform for the first time since January 2022, and it received over 52,000 likes within 20 minutes of being uploaded.
He is now being linked with a move away from United, although no transfer or loan deal for the former England international has yet to materialize. A move to Serie A appears to be the most likely consequence, with Atalanta, Roma, and Juventus all expressing interest.
Greenwood has one England cap, coming in as a substitute in a 1-0 loss to Iceland in September 2020. However, he and Phil Foden were removed from the squad two days later for violating Covid-19 quarantine restrictions.
He was unable to push his way back into the team following that, though manager Gareth Southgate did not rule out a comeback at the time, saying: "He is in our thoughts, I've spoken with him and his club, he is a player we really like."
Greenwood was last seen during a private training session at a public sports center in Manchester.
He has not played since January of last year, when he was arrested following allegations of physical and sexual abuse by a lady.
He was scheduled to stand trial this year, but all accusations against him were dismissed in February.
