Wolves are preparing a 20 million bid for Jurgen Klopp's next Liverpool player.

Liverpool have let a number of players leave this summer as Jurgen Klopp attempts to revamp his squad, with captain Jordan Henderson on the verge of joining Saudi Arabia.

Wolves are interested in Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, and he could be on his way out.

Kelleher, 24, is highly regarded by Jurgen Klopp and was entrusted with being in goal for the full 2021/22 League Cup-winning campaign, netting a penalty in the shootout against Chelsea. And he's made it into Ireland's international team, earning 10 caps.

However, Alisson's presence has limited his outings for the Reds. He has appeared in just five Premier League matches and 21 overall since joining the senior squad in 2018. Now, Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui wants to give him first-team football.

The current No. 1 at Molineux is Portuguese player Jose Sa, but he has piqued the curiosity of Nottingham Forest, with Keylor Navas leaving and the injured Dean Henderson returning to Manchester United following his loan.

According to the Daily Mail, Kelleher wants to play on a regular basis. Liverpool apparently values the goalkeeper at 20 million, with his current contract expiring in 2026.

Last season, despite limited appearances, the shot stopper impressed and was the hero of a League Cup penalty shootout victory over Derby County. However, due to Liverpool's failure to make an impact in either domestic cup, he was limited to just five games.

However, Klopp is left in a quandary, having already lost a slew of talents this summer. Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all left the club when their contracts ended, but captain Jordan Henderson was not supposed to be on the verge of a big money move to Saudi Arabia.

Neither was Kelleher's exit, though Klopp has already acquired a back-up option for Alisson should Wolves get their man. Adrian, the Reds' Spanish goalkeeper, has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until the 2023-24 season. He was poised to go for free this summer.

Klopp, though, stated at the end of last season that he had no intention of selling Alisson's main understudy: "I can't see... honestly, I can't see Caoimh leaving." I have to say, it must be an outstanding offer that makes me think."

Any potential sale might also free up finances for the German CEO as he rebuilds. Brighton's Alexis MacAllister and RB Leipzig's Dominik Szoboszlai have joined for a combined fee of 95 million, while a large bid for Southampton's Romeo Lavia has also been mentioned.
