The manager of Atletico Madrid believes Joao Felix is "p****d off" because he is linked with a move to Man United.
The president of Atletico Madrid has stated that Joao Felix still has a future with the LaLiga giants, despite all evidence pointing to the contrary as Manchester United begin to circle.
Enrique Cerezo, president of Atletico Madrid, has tried to put an end to speculation that Joao Felix is unhappy in the Spanish capital, as rumours link the forward to a move to Manchester United.
The former Golden Boy champion spent the second part of last season on loan in the Premier League, including a six-month spell at Chelsea. While Felix showed flashes of brilliance at the time, a red card on his debut meant he was always playing catch-up following suspension, and the Blues were in complete disarray for much of his time there.
When Felix returned to Atletico, he was forced to practice separately from the rest of the first team during the first session on Monday. Following that workout, the 23-year-old is said to have had candid talks with the club's sporting director, Andrea Berta.
It is said that during those discussions, Felix expressed his dissatisfaction with his situation at Atletico and encouraged his agent Jorge Mendes to try to find him a new club before the summer transfer window shuts.
Felix has no shortage of suitors, with United one of just three English Premier League clubs connected with a transfer for the former Benfica wonder. Newcastle and Aston Villa are also thought to be monitoring the issue.
Despite this, Atletico president Cerezo has stated that he has no issues with Felix, saying, "We are happy to have a player of the quality of Joao Felix." He plays for Atlético, which is fortunate for us.
"Everyone adores him as a player." He has been an Atlético player for many seasons and will remain so unless proven otherwise."
Having said that, Cerezo was pressed for more remark on Felix's dissatisfaction during the last session, but he chose to make light of it, insisting that his demeanor was entirely due to the fitness challenges that come with returning to pre-season.
