Real Madrid is preparing a €840 million deal for Mbappe and has chosen the France star's squad number.

Real Madrid's pursuit of Kylian Mbappe from PSG continues, with the Bernabeu club having already drafted an incredible contract for the France starlet.

Mbappe has made no secret of his dissatisfaction with life at PSG, although he has stated that he intends to stay at the club until his contract expires in June 2024.

He will then become a free agent and will be able to negotiate with whichever club he wishes.

PSG, on the other hand, will try to sell him if he does not exercise an option in his contract before July 31 that would prolong his contract until 2025 - a stipulation he intends to ignore.

All of this suits Real Madrid, who are content with the current position. Although they will have to wait a year to sign Mbappe, this eliminates the need to pay a large transfer price.

Real Madrid squad number for Mbappe

Real Madrid is so sure they'll get Mbappe that they've already reserved the No.9 jersey for the France star.

This would be a huge departure for Mbappe, who has become synonymous with the No.7 jersey since joining PSG, but Vini Jr already has that number reserved in the Real Madrid squad.

Real Madrid, who are anticipated to make a move for Mbappe next year, have been keeping a close eye on the issue. Los Blancos will not make any advances until PSG has publicly stated their asking price.

The Spaniards want to prevent a repeat of last year, when it appeared like a deal to recruit Mbappe was in the works, only for the 24-year-old to sign an extension with PSG, leaving Madrid with egg on their face after openly discussing the transaction.

According to former Los Blancos manager Vicente del Bosque, this is exactly what they must accomplish. Because his institution is collaborating with the Spain-China Football Exchange Association, the man who guided Spain to World Cup and European Championship victory has been offering free'masterclasses' at the Edith Stein School in Madrid.
