West Ham United are reportedly keen to sign Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay from Manchester United during this summer's transfer window. The Hammers announced Declan Rice's sale to Arsenal. This means that head coach David Moyes should have a healthy budget to improve his squad in the current market.

There has been speculation surrounding Maguire and McTominay's future in recent weeks. Neither is believed to be in the plans of Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag moving forward. According to The Independent, now that Rice's transferred to Arsenal, West Ham will step up interest in McTominay. McTominay is a leading midfield target for the Hammers.

Meanwhile, the report claims that Moyes's team are also keen on Maguire. A loan move for the England international is thought to be a possibility on the current market. Maguire has seen his wages at Man United increase this summer. The 30-year-old still has another two years left to run on his Old Trafford deal, with the option of a further year.

The former Sheffield United youngster has dropped down the pecking order in terms of starting roles in the middle of the Red Devils' defence. He made the first XI in the Premier League eight times during the 2022-23 campaign. Man United are keen to shift the Englishman permanently this summer. However, a loan move is more likely due to his huge wage packet.

Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof are ahead of Maguire in the pecking order for centre-back spots. Luke Shaw was also picked ahead of him in that area last season.

Newcastle United were heavily linked with the Scotland international during the January transfer window and are still in the running to sign him.

Meanwhile, Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion have also expressed an interest in the 26-year-old, who only started 10 Premier League matches during the 2022-23 campaign.

West Ham head coach Moyes is not viewing McTominay as a direct replacement for Rice. However, he believes that the Scot could be a vital player at London Stadium.

Man United are under pressure to make some first-team sales this summer, as the club look to secure deals for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana and Atalanta BC forward Rasmus Hojlund.
