The fight against corruption can't just be lip service, says President Akufo-Addo

According to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the fight against corruption in Africa must to be built in legislative, financial, and institutional activities rather than just lip service in order to be successful. He suggested that corruption was not something that was unique to Africa but rather something that was prevalent in all countries throughout the world. However, the President emphasised that countries who had been successful in combating the canker had done so by constructing a powerful legal system that was supported by the rule of law."They protected the public purse, made institutional reforms and enacted additional requisite laws and resourced more adequately the accountability organs of state and in Ghana, that is the anti-corruption law that we are pursuing since I took office," President Akufo-Addo added. "They also enacted additional requisite laws and resource more adequately the accountability organs of state."

Convention on a World ScaleYesterday, he was the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony of the 70th World Convention of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International (FGBMFI), which took place in Accra.Over two thousand participants from all over the world came together to fellowship at the event, which had the topic "Empowered for Service" (literally, "Empowered for Service") as its focus. In the event's 70-year existence, this will be the second time that it has been held on the African continent; the first time was in Nigeria. The celebration started off with heartfelt worship and rousing praises, which were flavoured with song ministerial performances by the Tema Youth Choir.Additionally, there was a demonstration of choreography performed by a group from the International Central Central Gospel Church. The group performed a drama dance that left the audience in awe.Other dignitaries who attended the conference included a former Chief Justice named Georgina Theodora Wood, the Chief of Defence Staff named Rear Admiral Seth Amoama, and the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission named Jean Adukwei Mensa. Additionally, the conference was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, clergymen, and some justices of the Supreme Court.President Akufo-Addo praised the significance of conventions, stating that they provided "Christians with the opportunity to recharge their spiritual batteries" while also providing an opportunity for Christians to support one another. On the other hand, he stated that it was preferable when the spiritual development that Christians experienced at conventions was reflected in their interactions within their societies, as this was where they spent the majority of their active lives on a daily basis.

"The marketplace, not the church or events like these conventions, is where true Christianity can be seen and experienced," the author writes. We have a propensity to complain and point fingers about the corruption that exists in our own countries.

"We, however, forget that we have a significant number of Christians in each of our countries who, together, can help create a counterculture of honest dealings," President Akufo-Addo emphasised. "We forget that we have a significant number of Christians in each of our countries."The President made it clear that political and other high-profile persons' involvement in corrupt activities was not the only factor that slowed down progress and hampered development in the country."In fact, it is about breaking rules and regulations in many different aspects of our lives and getting around the laws that are meant to guide our society," he remarked. "It is about circumventing the laws that are meant to guide our society."In addition, President Akufo-Addo mentioned that corrupt behaviour included driving dangerously, violating all of the traffic restrictions, and attempting to bribe the police officer when one is pulled over for the behaviour.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the issue is also connected to instances of low-level bribery and corruption.

Commendation In addition, the President extended his gratitude to the event's organisers for making the effort to incorporate a business expo as well as a lecture on ethics and integrity into the world convention in order to encourage the practise of honest commerce.New Beginning Francis Owusu, the International President of the FGBMFI, expressed the view that the convention marked the beginning of a fresh move of God. He made this statement throughout the convention. He stated this while quoting Jeremiah 29:10-11 and explained that because the Lord was about to do a new thing, the old things needed to be forgotten in order for the new thing to be successful."We have now entered a new season of revival in the body of Christ, and our fellowship has a crucial role to play as an important tool of God to awaken all laymen to go and bring in the last great harvest before the return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.Mr. Owusu added, "We expect the windows of heaven to open over this convention; therefore, let us all open our hearts and spirits to receive afresh the outpouring of God's Holy Spirit in a new wave of fire." "We expect the windows of heaven to open over this convention."
