Ghana international Bernard Mensah has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Tai on a two-year deal with an option to extend.
It is a free transfer deal after ending his stay at Turkish Süper Lig outfit Kayserispor.
Ex-Ghana international Bernard Mensah has officially joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Tai FC in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Mensah has joined the Saudi Arabian top-tier club on a free transfer after leaving Turkish Super Lig club Kayserispor FK after the end of the 2022/23 season's campaign.
The 28-year-old signed a two-year contract worth €1.7 million annual salary with a year option of renewal based on performance during his stay at the club per the information available to us.
Mensah left Kayserispor after a four-year stay after joining them from Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in a deal worth €2.80 million during the 2018 summer transfer window. He was later loaned out to Besiktas from Kayserispor for the 2020/21 season's campaign.
He made 91 appearances during his four-year stay at Kayserispor and managed to notch up 16 goals and provided 15 assists.
Spanish giants Atletico Madrid paid six million euros to beat off stiff competition from Manchester United under Alex Ferguson to secure the signature of Mensah from Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes in 2015.
He failed to make an appearance for Atletico Madrid after his acquisition and was later loaned out to Getafe CF, Kasimpasa and also his former club Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal.
Mensah, who retired from the senior national team of Ghana prematurely in 2021, made only four appearances for the Black Stars with a goal to his credit.
Ghanaian International Alexander Djiku and Fenerbahçe have reached an agreement on a contract until June 2027. A signing-on fee of €1.5M. The annual salary of €1.7M. Medical test schedule within 24/48hrs then the official signature will follow.
