Black Sherif, born Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, is a Ghanaian singer and rapper who has taken the music world by storm. Black Sherif was born and raised in Konongo-Zongo, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Growing up, he was exposed to a variety of cultures and influences due to his parents' work overseas. As a result, he spent much of his childhood living with his aunt and extended family members.

He attended Konongo Zongo Islamic Basic School for his basic education and later moved on to Pinamang Educational Complex, where he completed his junior high school education. It was during his time at Kumasi Academy, where he completed his secondary education, that he developed an interest in music and dancing.

Black Sherif went on to study at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) before transferring to the University of Ghana in October 2022.

Black Sherif began his music career in 2019 with the release of his song "Cry for Me" on YouTube. He quickly gained popularity, and his debut single, "Money," was released on May 25, 2020, along with a music video.

In May 2021, Black Sherif released his breakthrough hit, "First Sermon," which propelled him to new heights of fame. The song was followed up by "Second Sermon" in July, which received a remix featuring Burna Boy.
