"And he gave the APOSTLES, the PROPHETS, the EVANGELISTS, the PASTORS and TEACHERS ".
1. APOSTLE
God called, God anointed, God sent and messenger of God.
Matthew 4:18-22
" And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.And they straightway left [their] nets, and followed him. And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James [the son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him".
Rom 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called [to be] an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,
We must note that Paul held all the five offices .
Are you a slave to your Apostle or is your Apostle a true servant of Christ?
2. PROPHET
Forerunner who make for greater things to come. They deal with spiritual climate.
Matthew 3 :3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Jeremiah 23 :21 - 22.
I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
Turn the heart of fathers and sons.
Malachi 4 : 5 - 6 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
Mal 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
They speak to the nation and kingdom.
Jeremiah 1 : 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Foretellers of things to come.
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Carry lamentation and woes .
3. PASTOR
He is in charge of worship , counseling, leadership and knowledge of the Holy Scriptures.
4. TEACHER
2 Timothy 3 : 14 - 17
But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them];And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
5. EVANGELIST
Planters .
I Corinthians 3 : 5
Who then is Paul, and who [is] Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
They are labourers
Luke 10 : 2
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly [is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
They are descending .
John 6 :44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
2 Timothy 2 : 15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 4 : 5 - 6
But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
