Twin brothers have allegedly stabbed their friend at a pub in Berekum, in the Bono Region. The incident resulted in the death of 16-year-old Alhassan Sulemana.

Reportedly, the duo fled the scene following the incident, which occurred on Saturday night. According to residents, it all began as a misunderstanding between Alhassan and the twins, Farouk and Harus. Mohammed Sofian, an eyewitness at the pub, heard loud shouts and investigated.

Upon arrival, he found Alhassan and the twins engaged in a heated exchange. Mohammed warned them to stop and left the scene. However, he heard more noise later and returned to find that the deceased had been stabbed by the twins using scissors. Alhassan was pronounced dead upon arrival at Berekum Holy Family Hospital.

Meanwhile, the twins, Farouk and Harus, are still missing. Safia Sulemana, the deceased's mother, expresses her disbelief at her son’s death. He and the twins were close friends. She cannot understand why the boys would commit such a heinous act against her son. The deceased’s brother reported the case to the police for investigation.

Recent killings and robberies are becoming rampant in Ghana. Just a few days ago, a final student was stabbed to his untimely death in Kumasi. There was also a robbery attack on a police van last time in Ablekuma, which saw the policeman slaughtered by an armed man or a motorcycle.

There has also been a serious outbreak of lynching, burning, and other vices across the country. This year has seen a lot of these vices take over the country. People are attributing it to the recent economic hardships and lack of jobs for the youth in the country.

Whether it is because of the economic hardships or the lack of jobs in the country, the police, the government, and those in appropriate authorities should make sure to clamp down on or curtail such atrocities that are taking a toll on the country.
