In a shocking turn of events, a 38- year- old boda boda rider was brutally killed because he was accused of having an affair with the wife of a well- known local priest, which was against the law. The event took place in the village of Kumbatha, which is in the Suba South district.
Chief Andrew Ombisa said that it was found that the person who died had been having a secret relationship with the priest' s wife for a long time. People say that when the minister left the house to pray, the boda boda driver would sneak into the house and spend intimate time with the woman.
But the end of their secret trysts last Sunday was very scary. When the minister came home unexpectedly, he found his wife and the person who had died having an affair. Concerned, the minister quickly asked his neighbours for help, and they rushed to the scene.
Eyewitnesses said that angry locals locked the boda boda rider, whose name was Onjiro, in the house after the pastor raised the alarm. Because they were so angry, the angry crowd struck Onjiro with crude weapons until he died too soon.
Chief Ombisa said that the horrible lynching happened in the priest' s property and that the dead body was left in a cruel way near the fence of Kumbatha Primary School. After that, the event was reported to the Magunga police station, where it is still waiting to be looked into further.
After Onjiro was killed, Suba DCC Sebastian Okiring asked the community for help in finding and naming the people who might have done it. Also, he asked anyone who knew where the preacher and his wife were to come forward.
