It surprised many people seeing such action occur between an all- time soldier, Major Abubakari Sulemana(Rtd), salute flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, John Dramani Mahama who visited the former at his palace.
Despite his age, his social status and who he was to the founder of the National Democratic Congress, Jerry John Rawlings, the former officer commanding the Recce Regiment, Retired Major Sulemana Abubakari was happy seeing the former President and his delegation at his palace.
Welcoming him and his entourage, the 80- year- old man stood on his feet and gave a salute to John Dramani Mahama and followed that with a bow.
The action got many people talking on social media.

Meanwhile, the NDC 2024 presidential candidate said that he visited the Northern and Savannah Regions on a working visit where he was honoured to meet several personalities in those two regions.
" I have been in the Northern and Savanna Regions on a working visit throughout the weekend, during which I had the honour of meeting with several of our chiefs and Muslim leaders.
It has been an excellent opportunity to, once again, meet our traditional and religious leaders, discuss important issues, and strengthen our relationships.
The chiefs visited include Tolon Naa Major Abubakari Sulemana (Rtd. ), Kaasuliyili Naa Yakubu Bukari, Lingbun Naa Sayibu and Nyankpala Naa Ibrahim Mahama.
I was humbled and impressed by the hospitality and warmth. I look forward to continuing to work together to promote peace and prosperity in our communities as we Build the Ghana we Want Together, " Mahama wrote.
