A jovial exchange between former President John Dramani Mahama and former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu was caught on camera. Mahama is running for the presidency of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

A video that was taken of the two of them interacting on July 16, 2023 at Iddrisu's house appears to dispel suspicions that they had a contentious relationship with one another.

The new leadership of the NDC, which saw Haruna Iddrisu replaced with Cassiel Ato Forson, contributed to the spread of the rumours by engaging in what some political commentators refer to as a coup.

"It has been an excellent opportunity to, once again, meet our traditional and religious leaders, discuss important issues, and strengthen our relationships," Mahama commented on Facebook after the event.

However, according to a video that is going viral on social media, not only did the former president meet with several chiefs and leaders of the Muslim community, but he also paid a special visit to Haruna Iddrisu.

The footage showed that Idrisu's family gave Mahama a warm welcome inside their home.

Before visiting the Member of Parliament for Tamale South in the living room, the video shows the former president chatting with other members of the household of the MP for Tamale South.

"I was humbled and impressed by the hospitality and warmth," he admitted. "It was very nice of you."

In the post that Mahama published on Facebook, he expressed his excitement about the prospect of collaborating with them to further the cause of peace and development in the Northern and Savannah areas.

The new standing order is being considered by Parliament.

The Parliament of Ghana is contemplating the adoption of new standing orders in order to alter the manner in which it conducts its business.

One of the adjustments that has been suggested is to give leadership of the Appointments Committee of Parliament to members of the minority party.

At the beginning and end of each session of Parliament, members of Parliament (MPs) will be expected to recite the national pledge.

According to this survey, the NPP will not be victorious in the elections of 2024.

In the meantime, the findings of a recent poll indicate that it is quite unlikely for the New Patriotic Party to remain in office beyond the year 2024.

People who voted for Nana Akufo-Addo in the presidential election of 2020 have indicated in a poll conducted by the well-known polling firm Global InfoAnalytics that they will not vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the presidential election of 2024.

According to the results of the poll conducted in July 2023, Dr. Bawumia's support among Akufo-Addo's coalition has significantly decreased.
