NORTHERN POLITICIANS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR FAILING TO DEVELOP THE NORTH - KENNEDY AGYA

Kennedy Agyepong, a potential flagbearer for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has harshly lambasted lawmakers from northern Ghana for their inability to improve their region of the country. Agyepong is one of the candidates running for the NPP's leadership position.

He voiced his dissatisfaction with their strategy of asking for votes from their fellow northerners exclusively on the basis of their shared regional identity, rather than offering tangible improvement to the people of the region, and he communicated this unhappiness.

During his campaign tour to the Savanna Region, Mr. Agyepong criticised these politicians and emphasised that the North is blessed with fertile and arable areas, which ought to have been utilised for economic growth and to address the problem of northern urban drift.

He admonished the people of the North to exercise caution and to avoid falling prey to the machinations of politicians like those who, throughout the years, have failed to deliver on their promise to develop the region.

Mr. Agyepong is confident that he can make a positive impact on the economic situation in the North because to his experience as an astute businessman.

He stressed that the people who live in the North are not poor but rather have enormous resources that have the potential to be turned into wealth and success for the region.

The empowerment of young people and women, the provision of job opportunities, and the creation of an inclusive environment that is beneficial to everyone in the region, free from any sort of discrimination, are the primary focuses of his efforts.

The goal of Mr. Agyepong's programme is to improve the quality of life in all of Ghana's Northern areas by capitalising on their latent potential to generate income and opportunities for themselves and the broader society.

His goal is to usher in positive change, development, and expansion while simultaneously exhorting his fellow Northerners to put pressure on their government leaders to demonstrate accountability and actual progress.
