“This is what happens when drugs are cheaper and more available than housing and mental health treatment. People are depressed and treating themselves and then become addicted and it's heartbreaking”.

“The walking dead. This is so sad. And I just think of their families, who love them and are heartbroken. That money we sent to Ukraine could have been used for better purposes such as trying to stop this real pandemic”.

“This ain't Philly ... this is just one section of Philly that is unfortunately known for the presence of ppl strung out on drugs. Go into any big city and you'll eventually find a similar spot with the same type of feel. Still a bad scene nonetheless, but let's not categorize it as Philly as if it's the entire city”.
@kerryktroup
“With so many smart people in this country, how is it no one seems to even be thinking of solutions to help these people?”.
@PaulaYScanlan
“Philly was practically unlivable by the time I moved out last year. I knew multiple people that were robbed at gunpoint, my car window was smashed (for them to only steal 12 quarters), and so much more. Sad watching this all happened”.
@Cindie911
“That is fentanyl at work. I was briefly involved with a person that became addicted to fentanyl and this is exactly what happened to him. He is 6'4" and 220 pounds. Twice he had to be taken to the ER for this exact behavior. It is hard to see”.
@UmraTech
“Many people who are struggling with addiction or homelessness can change their lives for the better by following the guidance of Islam. Islam teaches that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and that everyone has the potential to change their life for the better”.
@BeekoJoe
“This specific area was always one of the biggest open-air heroin markets in the country. Then in 2008 pill mills popped up all over the Tri-state area.
When the DEA cracked down on the mills everyone turned to Kensington for their opioids in 2013. That was the exact time when Fentanyl replaced heroin.
Now this is xylazine mixed with fent or synthetic benzodiazepine mixed with fent. They unfortunately will die. The city, state, and Biden administration is letting this happen by normalizing this behavior”.
