Real Madrid have released their squad list for their pre-season tour of the United States, ahead of Wednesday's flight across the Atlantic.

Carlo Ancelotti brought only 25 players, compared with 32 when he led Barcelona on their tour, and only brought one young player onto the pitch in his squad. Nico Paz, an 18-year-old talented midfielder, has been included in the squad to complement an already quality midfield.

In addition, the surprise was that young Uruguayan player Alvaro Rodriguez was eliminated. Making his debut last season and scoring in the Madrid derby, Ancelotti confirmed he would be promoted to the first team this summer. Looks like he reversed that decision, leaving Rodriguez surprisingly disqualified.

Real Madrid are said to be using the new 4-4-2 formation under Ancelotti ahead of this season, and the US tour will be the first chance to see it in action. Their first match is against Milan on Sunday evening local time, 04:00:

00 CEST at the Rose Bowl.
