MU is in dire need of a striker

No doubt:

Manchester United are desperate to sign a striker this summer.

When Cristiano Ronaldo, who perhaps caused more problems than it solved, suddenly left in November 2022, the Red Devils were left with very few options ahead.

Anthony Martial was their only natural-born striker at the time, and his injury record made it a risky move to put their main goal-scoring hopes on his shoulders.

On loan during the January transfer window, Wout Weghorst floundered during his time at Old Trafford and failed to score in 17 Premier League appearances. The lack of a clear goal threat up front has affected Erik ten Hag's side significantly as they scored the fewest league goals of any side to break into the top six last season.

Now, however, with Mason Mount and Andre Onana seemingly coming, United have finally turned their attention to signing a striker.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Red Devils are preparing an offer for Hojlund, who is valued at around £61m by Atalanta, after agreeing personal terms with him.

David Ornstein's report goes even further, claiming that Dane has told his club he wants to leave this summer, with United and PSG set to battle for his signature.
