In the heat of the National Patriotic Party' s (NPP) flagbearer race, Vice President Dr. Bawumia has responded to harsh criticism from his opponent, Kennedy Agyapong, with a call for restraint and tolerance. The strong warning comes after Hon. Kennedy Agyapong recently labeled Dr. Bawumia a " bogus strategist.
Hon. Kennedy Agyapong speaking his some NPP supporters said " We will have troubles if we don' t do a clean campaign because I will reply to every claim made against me. You call yourself a strategist but when we were taking over power the dollar was GH¢4, today one dollar is GH¢12 and yet you call yourself a strategist" . But instead of engaging in a war of words, the Vice President chose to take the high road, urging his supporters and spokespersons not to retaliate against such insults.
The Vice President emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum and respect within the party' s ranks. He urged party members to prioritize unity and focus on the common goal of achieving success in the upcoming flagbearer race, as well as in the general elections. Dr. Bawumia' s response reflects his commitment to upholding the values of the NPP, which places great emphasis on unity and constructive dialogue.
Rather than getting entangled in personal attacks or mudslinging, the Vice President highlighted the need for healthy and respectful debate that addresses substantive issues and benefits the party' s growth. The call for restraint is particularly crucial in the lead- up to the flagbearer race, as internal divisions and public spats can distract the party from its primary objective of addressing the concerns and aspirations of the Ghanaian people.
As one of the leading contenders in the NPP' s flagbearer race, Dr. Bawumia' s response sets an example for others to follow. Instead of engaging in personal attacks, he focuses on showcasing his vision, policies, and leadership abilities to the party faithful. By demonstrating such maturity and statesmanship, Dr. Bawumia reaffirms his commitment to serving the nation and elevates the level of political discourse within the NPP.
