The Otumfuo Ahenenananomhene, Nana Kwame Mensah-Bonsu, has expressed his opinion that former President John Dramani Mahama will emerge victorious in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections in Ghana.

The sub-Chief of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu Il, further added that even if the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) were to field Jesus Christ as their candidate, they would still lose the election due to the poor performance of the current President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Nana Kwame Mensah-Bonsu is confident that Ghanaians, particularly those residing in the Ashanti Region, have come to realize that Mahama, who is the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is a better manager of the economy than the current administration. As such, he believes that the people of Ghana will vote for Mahama in the upcoming elections.

In a viral video shared by journalist KB Nkansah, the traditional ruler stated in Twi that he is certain of Mahama's victory in the elections. He stressed that "things have gone bad and they are getting worse," and that "a good thing speaks for itself."

The Ashanti sub-Chief is of the opinion that Mahama's track record in managing the economy is better than that of the current administration, and this will be a critical factor in the upcoming elections.

Furthermore, the traditional ruler urged the NDC presidential candidate to select a running mate from the Ashanti Region for the 2024 elections. He recommended his own brother, Oppong Akwasi Fosu, as a suitable candidate if Mahama decides to choose someone from the Ashanti land.

In conclusion, the Otumfuo Ahenenananomhene's endorsement of John Dramani Mahama is a significant development in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential elections in Ghana. His opinion that Ghanaians have come to realize that Mahama is a better manager of the economy than the current administration is likely to influence the voting patterns of the people of Ghana, especially those residing in the Ashanti Region.

Additionally, his recommendation of Oppong Akwasi Fosu as a potential running mate for Mahama highlights the importance of selecting a candidate from the Ashanti Region to strengthen the NDC's prospects in the upcoming elections.
