Yesterday, news began going viral over the arrest of Ghanaian music sensation Black Sheriff, Ghanaian blogger GhHyper broke the news of the arrest and users backlashed him for spreading false information, however, after deliberate investigations, it has been revealed that, indeed Black Sherif was arrest and Gh Hyper was present at the scene hence his confirmation, further details also revealed that, the cause of Blacko’s arrest was as a result of his failure to comply with a contract he signed to perform on a cruise ship. Gh Hyper is said to have recommended Black Sherif to the organizers and a downpayment of $20,000 was deposited into the musician's account.
However, he failed to upload a minute video of himself promoting the show hence he breached the contract, and organizers of the show are seeking to take back their initial $20,000 deposit and seek damages as well. Renowned Ghanaian blogger and entertainment pundit Olelesalvador gives an in-depth knowledge of the whole issue read his narration below;
Viewers, after a long deliberation, back & forth in verifying key information, what's left with is a copy of the said contract/document that requested Black Sherif to share a promotional video.
Here's what we have gathered so far & can confirm from both sides(agency + cruise ship organizers)
??We can confirm that $20,000 was indeed deposited as a downpayment. His total booking fee was $40,000.
??Blacko was indeed booked via United Talent
Agency- the agency responsible for all his bookings in Europe- in May, but sources close to the agency say that a particular clause of a promotional video endorsement wasn't captured in the contract.
?The organizers didn't hear from Blacko's team after many attempts to get him to record the promotional video, since May; a writ of summons was served; but no response to date.
??The agency offered to refund the initial deposit to the organizers due to incessant requests outside the contract but the latter refused; stating that his failure to do the video bit has affected the marketing plans of the said event. The organizers were asking for $50k as a result; it was refused. Simply because, per Blacko's deliverables on contract he was to show up and perform on August 19.
??The organizers decided to take further action by reporting Blacko to the police. However, Blacko wasn't 'arrested' upon arrival; he was only invited for questioning and to assist with investigations.
??The police warned against filming the apprehension & investigations/interactions at the station. ??We can also confirm that indeed the organizers had an interview with one of the networks under Multimedia Group in May. In that interview, it was evident that the said video wasn't ready to be publicized together with the interview as planned.
??Interestingly, further checks revealed that this
"promotional endorsement video is a regular activation culture from the organizers. Last year's event had Amake Dede & Morgan Heritage share videos of themselves endorsing/promoting the event. - GH Hyper was not known to the police as a 'Blogger' when they arrived at the airport, but rather a nephew to the man pressing charges against Blacko.
??The report surrounding Blacko's arrest was a tad bit dramatized; he was escorted gently and not in any 'Rambo style.
??At the headquarters, GH Hyper was asked to delete previous & present photos /videos he had taken to either share on his Snapchat/IG and that explains the following sequence in photos.
??The last photo was his only & closest shot at capturing the issue to corroborate his earlier reports.
