He spoke as the bulk of Calvin had moved south and west of the islands, with winds dropping below tropical storm strength (40mph). Hawaii Governor Josh Green said the state recommends all residents keep stockpiles of water, food, medicine and other supplies that would last up to 14 days.
"Thankfully, Calvin did not cause significant damage, but it's a reminder for us to be prepared," he told a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
