In the middle of bitter cold, thousands of fearless women from the Shembe Church came in eBuhleni, Inanda, to honor their precious virginity.
The charismatic uNyazi Lwezulu Mduduzi Shembe, the charismatic church leader, kept a close eye on these courageous women as they let loose with their dance skills and sang beautiful melodies. This annual festival, called as Inhlangano, is important to the eBuhleni faction' s Shembe Nazareth Baptist Church.
This yearly event, known as Inhlangano, is the pinnacle for the eBuhleni faction of the Shembe Nazareth Baptist Church. The celebrations began on July 1 and are scheduled to continue throughout the entire month.
During the event, thousands of people will get married on the same day, and some ladies may get marriage offers. The church' s spokeswoman, Thokozani Mncwabe, claimed that virgins alone should conduct the sacred dance by women.
" They started on Sunday to collect the uThingo, which is the rainbow plant, from Ntanda, an hour away from eBuhleni, and they presented it to uNyazi Lwezulu, " said Mncwabe.
Mncwabe emphasized that women actively and devotedly participate in this practice. On the last day of the annual gathering, he stated, some 2, 000 couples are anticipated to get married. Men are welcome to attend and select the woman they wish to wed.
