1. Nigeria

Ghana is another country in West Africa that has some of the best cuisine. From banku to abetenkoi (stewed beef), Ghanaian cuisine is loaded with complex flavour and aromatic spices. Jollof rice is a well-liked delicacy in this part of the world, much as it is in Nigeria. The dishes known as "red red" (beans with plantains) and "fufu" (mashed cassava) are extremely appetising.


Try some kelewele, which is fried plantain cubes served with a spicy sauce, and groundnut soup if you're looking for something a little bit different. In Ghana, some of the most popular foods to eat on the street are waakye, which is made by combining rice, beans, and other ingredients; kenkey, which is made by fermenting maize dough; and akara, which is made by frying black-eyed peas.

4. Côte d'Ivoire/Ivory Coast

The cuisine of the country includes dishes such as attiéké, which is similar to couscous and is produced from cassava. It is typically eaten with grilled fish or meat that has been braised. One of the most popular foods in Ivory Coast is called aloco, and it consists of fried plantains that are doused in a fiery sauce.


Other dishes that are popular in Ivory Coast include maffe, which is a stew prepared with peanut butter and slow-cooked, and boni-boni, which is a stew made with fish or chicken that is seasoned. Stands on the side of the road sell a variety of foods, including grilled corn and chicken skewers with a spicy sauce. People who enjoy seafood can eat grilled shrimp, lobster, and snails, and people who enjoy street cuisine can enjoy specialties like alloco-nem (fried plantain rolls) and kedjenou (slow-cooked chicken or fish).


5. The Gambia (Gambia)



When you visit the Gambia, you can choose from a variety of dishes at any one of the country's many restaurants. Benachin is a one-pot delicacy that is commonly seen all across The Gambia and is considered to be one of the country's traditional cuisines.  Rice, veggies, and meat are the typical ingredients found in the pot. To give your food that classic and delicious flavour, all you need to do is add a dash or two of your favourite spice.


You might as well refer to it as Jollof rice from the Gambia. Cassava and beans are the primary ingredients in Nyambeh Nyebbeh, a traditional Gambian cuisine that is also quite popular in the Gambia. In West Africa, one of the best dishes to try is yassa, which can be either chicken or fish and is cooked in a sauce made of onions and mustard. Accra, which are fried dough balls, and buba bread, which is a flatbread stuffed with beef or chicken, are two examples of the delicious street food available in The Gambia.
