PREMIER LEAGUE legend David Silva is set to retire from football at the age of 37. The former Manchester Citystar has suffered a brutal injury blow during pre-season.

Silva sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in training withReal Sociedad According toFabrizio Romano he is now considering announcing his retirement as a result of the injury. A decision is said to be expected soon, withThe Athleticreporting that the veteran midfielder has already made up his mind. Having signed a contract extension in May, Silva's deal runs through to the end of the coming season.
He returned to Spain in 2020, signing for Sociedad from City on a free transfer after a decade in England. Across 93 appearances for theLa Ligaside, he has scored seven goals and added 18 assists. Silva also helped the club qualify for Champions Leaguelast season as they finished fourth in the table. He remains afan favorite in Manchesterfrom his time at the Etihad Stadium.
