once again from the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the association. We
are thrilled to share some exciting news that will undoubtedly uplift the
spirits of our dedicated service personnel and the general public. It is with
great pleasure that we inform you of the significant upward adjustment of
monthly allowances for Service Personnel, which has been approved and will come
into effect from January 2023.
This momentous decision will see a
substantial increase in the monthly allowances, with the amount rising from
GHc559.04 to GHc715.57. This adjustment is a testament to the value we place on
our service personnel and their dedication to their roles. We recognize their
hard work, commitment, and the crucial role they play in various sectors,
contributing to the overall development of the nation.
We are fully aware of the
challenges faced by service personnel, and we believe that this increment will
go a long way in improving their living standards and overall well-being. This
step was taken after careful consideration of various factors, including the
rising cost of living, and it is our hope that the increased allowance will
ease the financial burden faced by our service personnel.
In light of this adjustment, we
want to assure all service personnel that they will be entitled to arrears for
the difference between the previous allowance and the new adjusted allowance
starting from January 2023. This means that the increase in monthly allowance
will be retroactively applied to January, and service personnel will receive
the rightful arrears they deserve.
We extend our deepest appreciation
to the management of the scheme (NSS) for their unwavering support and
cooperation throughout this process. Their commitment to the welfare of service
personnel and their dedication to the betterment of their lives have been truly
remarkable. Without their support and understanding, this achievement would not
have been possible.
Furthermore, we would like to
